I am passionate about working with nursing students and watching them succeed. As a practicing faculty member of the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University, I have had the opportunity to observe and aid the nursing journey of hundreds of nurses. I relate to them and other nurses pursuing their nursing careers because I have stood in their shoes before. I graduated with my master’s and DNP in nursing from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. I have worked as a Nursing Practitioner for 19 years in stem cell transplant and hematology-oncology.
All these experiences in practice have turned me into an effective nurse mentor and tutor who is knowledgeable about all aspects nurses need to succeed in their academic or professional pursuits. The joy I have felt helping nursing reach their aspirations inspired me to make it my mission to help foster a robust and supportive community for nursing students. This community will create a positive environment of like-minded nurses who encourage each other and lovingly push each other to excel in doing what they love and feel called to do.
Your nursing story is just about to begin. So many aspiring nurses do not finish this rewarding journey. There is so much content to cover and many aspects to juggle that some of us are overwhelmed by the pressure. That does not have to be the case. What would it be like to have your own advocate, coach, mentor, and tutor walk with you along your school journey? How would your trajectory change if you had a guiding hand with you from the moment you crack open your first nursing textbook until your first day at your nursing job? From experience, I can tell you that a guiding hand makes a world of difference.
